American online casino software developer International Game Technology (IGT) has announced the restructuring of the mobile and Internet gaming operations for its IGT-UK subsidiary.
The reshuffle follows its recent acquisition of interactive gambling software developer Million-2-1 alongside the subsequent integration of the UK division of its WagerWorks division.
As a result of the restructure, the UK division of online gaming software supplier WagerWorks will take responsibility for the sale and distribution of game content from Barcrest Group for remote gaming markets. In addition, WagerWorks will also be responsible for providing IGT game content for mobile gaming markets developed utilising Million-2-1’s mobile gaming platform.
IGT stated that the games development strategy for WagerWorks has involved supplying a mixture of well-known consumer brands coupled with online versions of some of its most popular titles such as Cleopatra. The Reno-based firm revealed that WagerWorks would now also leverage online versions of successful titles from Barcrest Group to offer streams of content for the interactive digital television, mobile and Internet gaming markets.
It also declared that Million-2-1 would continue to focus on interactive services for media organisations and land-based retailers using mobile solutions in order to deliver new revenue streams. This will include prize competitions, mobile marketing campaigns and lotteries for the UK and international markets.
The reorganisation has also seen Simon Murphy from Million-2-1 appointed as the Head Of Business Development for WagerWorks. He will be responsible for developing commercial relationships with key clients across mobile and Internet gaming products alongside WagerWorks’ existing team.
”This restructure streamlines our current sales and distribution process and enables us to offer an integrated remote gaming solution to our partners through one business relationship,” said Robert White, Vice-President for IGT-UK.
“It is also consistent with our game development strategy of offering great game content across multiple channels including mobile and Internet. By developing new branded content and continuing to access the best games from land-based environments, I am confident we can further strengthen our games portfolio and our position as a leading content supplier.”
